About Edo Grill and Sushi
We take pride in our restaurant and will do our best to ensure every visit is enjoyed. Our food is made with love, fresh ingredients, and years of experience in Asian cuisine.
Edo Grill & Sushi is family owned and operated right here in Moneta, VA. Since our restaurant opened its doors in 2006, we’ve treated every customer like they were a part of our family. Our teppanyaki chef has 19 years of experience in the kitchen. Owner Shawn Lin has 26 years of experience, with 7 of those years preparing sushi. His wife, Jenny, has 28 years of experience with restaurants. Both Shawn and Jenny have family that have owned or worked in restaurants. Jenny holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Radford University while Shawn holds a bachelor's in mathematics from China Fujian University.
"Edo is the third restaurant we have owned, with the previous being Chopsticks Chinese Restaurant located at Bridgewater Plaza, and another Chinese establishment in Roanoke. We immigrated to the US when we were both young; I was 25 and she was 15, but she came before I did. Interestingly, we both lived in the same village in China, but never met until we coincidentally came to the US, to the same area! Our chef is also from the same region of China as we are."

"We have three daughters together. Vanessa, the eldest, is a senior at Franklin County High School and the Roanoke Valley Governor's School and plans to attend college after she graduates with an interest in pre-med. Elysia is our middle child and she is in her sophomore year at FCHS and RVGS. While she is still deciding what she wants to do, she knows she wants to go to college. Cynthia is in 7th grade at the Benjamin Franklin Middle School. The children are all very involved in extracurriculars and their studies, but you will see them helping occasionally at the restaurant during busy seasons."
